I’m Edison Schetter, a singer-songwriter originally from Oshkosh, Wisconsin, now calling Southwest Florida home. I spent nearly ten years running my own handyman business before taking a leap of faith and pursuing music full-time. Looking back, it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

I call my sound “Southern Proof,” a mix of acoustic rock and folk country with some grit, heart, and a little Midwest soul. A lot of what I write comes from my own experiences with faith, fatherhood, love, loss, and everything in between.

When I was 23, I lost my brother in an unexpected car accident. Music became a way for me to deal with things I didn’t always know how to put into words. Songwriting helped me through some pretty dark times, and I hope the music I put out can do the same for someone else. We all go through things, and sometimes a song can say what we can’t.

Since releasing my first music in 2021, my songs have racked up nearly 500,000 streams, something I never imagined when I first started putting music out. Over the years, I’ve been fortunate enough to play some incredible venues and festivals, meet a lot of great people, and build a following throughout Southwest Florida and back home in the Midwest.

These days, I stay pretty busy playing solo acoustic shows, performing with my band Southern Proof, traveling for gigs, and working on new original music. There’s always something in the works, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

At the end of the day, I’m just a dad, a believer, and a guy who genuinely loves what he does. I’ve worked hard to get here, but I also know how fortunate I am to make a living doing something I love. Whether I’m playing for a handful of people or a packed house,
